The Lethbridge Hurricanes are struggling to hit the win column here in the pre-season.
The Canes' lost 8-5 to Portland Saturday afternoon in Kennewick, WA. Lethbridge battled back from a 7-0 deficit in the 3rd period to make the game interesting. The loss drops the Hurricanes exhibition record to 0 and 5. Lethbridge was heavily outshot 58-22. They were, at one point Saturday being outshot 23-3. Ville Kolppanen played nets for the Hurricanes and by all reports he played well. I'd say so looking at the lop-sided shot total! Lethbridge wraps up the pre-season Sunday when they take on Tri-City.

Too many shots given up again, however when you consider they are playing with only Ross, Ryckman and Castro as vets on the blueline and the rest are rookies then that must be taken into consideration. Power play worked well at 3-6. Canes will have to solve their goaltending situation. Ville, Taj and Anderson are likely battling to play behind an overage. Regina has too many overages and Hunt wants to go with a younger netminder. That makes Lindsay Rowat available. It will be interesting to see what transpires prior to their road opener.

I see a few overage defense men around too..so maybe the 2 twenty year old spots can be filled..torrie jung looks like he maybe available and we may get him for nothing..
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly throughout the pre-season. I expect we'll see Preston make a few moves to bring in some experienced guys who can solidify the defence.
