The Lethbridge Hurricanes are off to a good start in this early season. They began the regular season last weekend with back-to-back wins versus Kootenay. Given the fact the team was missing 8 players, it was a successful start. The good thing is the team gets 2-more players back tonight as they get set for a home-and-home series with rival Medicine Hat. Colton Sceviour and Dwight King are back for their respective NHL camps. They should add a big boost going into the second weekend of the season. Sceviour had a strong showing with the Dallas Stars prospects at the Traverse City prospects tournament which earned him an invite to Stars main camp. King, played well enough at the L.A. Kings prospect tournament in Phoenix to garner a look at L.A. Kings main camp this past week. That still leaves the Hurricanes with 4 players not playing with the team right now. Defenceman Luca Sbisa is still with Philadelphia and Mitch Fadden continues his stint with Tampa Bay. Carter Bancks' broken foot will keep him sidelined for another few weeks and Zack Boychuk is still with Carolina. The news on Boychuk is he's been cleared by doctors in Carolina for non-contact practice only. That bodes well for his return to the Lethbridge line-up in the days ahead. Tonight's game is a 7 o'clock start from the Enmax Centre. The two teams play tomorrow again in the Hat with a 7:30 start time there. The puck drop will be delayed a bit because it's the Tigers season opener. Catch all the action on CJOC, 94.1 The Lounge with myself and Dick Gibson.
