I agree with some previous comments about to many passengers on the Cane Train right now. Having said that in the 5 games since the break 3 have been against league leading Calgary and Edmonton and 2 against Swift Current. They picked up 5 of possible 10 points and 2 road wins. Consitency is their biggest enemy right now and they must beat teams like Moose Jaw and Vancouver coming up to make a playoff run. There is no development happening here. Preston? Power play again with no scheme at all.Last 5 games the team is 3 for 27 which is 11%. Merkely, Watson and Yakubowski have been invisible since the break and dont have 1 point since the break between them! Totally unacceptable. Rimmer has been average...another over the shoulder goal with no screen last night and a point shot in the middle of the net and he is not in position...what can you say about shootouts except horrible. Tai I hope gets a start tonight. With Pilon and Duke back maybe a regular game forward should sit in the stands and get some perspective...this team cannot win with guys taking nights off. It was a wasted important point last night. What a momentum KILLER! The players need to try to work on some plays on their own because this coaching staff has NO CLUE how to get it done. Axel has GOT to be better in every zone; he is getting less and less effective, every game.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-853267891466093489.post-13201452259989818402013-01-05T23:13:50.136-07:002013-01-05T23:13:50.136-07:00And yet another game with the Canes underachieving...And yet another game with the Canes underachieving. In the last few games, the opposition hasn't played that well...lacklustre performance by the home team.....disappointing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-853267891466093489.post-58444994684204243902013-01-05T22:22:01.439-07:002013-01-05T22:22:01.439-07:00Lacklustre performance tonight overall despite gen...Lacklustre performance tonight overall despite generating some decent pressure and a fair number of shots. I think this game was easily Topping's best in a month or so. The Canes really need the Merkley line to regain its early season form to start stringing some W's together. The same could be said about Maxwell. I guess try just need to follow Johnston's lead. He was a beast again tonight and is clearly the team's MVP into eyes.

NNAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
