I'm not surprised at all by their lack of consistency. That's just the way it is with young teams. Preston has chosen to stick with his present core and not add any vet support, so it is what it is......a young team learning what it takes to win on a consistent basis.

DarrenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-853267891466093489.post-19552600536562623412012-12-20T09:39:07.732-07:002012-12-20T09:39:07.732-07:00As others have said, this team still plays the gam...As others have said, this team still plays the game that their opponent offers, instead of forcing their will like they did to Kamloops. This is the mark of a young team, and I can only hope that they are learning something with these losses against inferior opponents.

And, for crying out loud, let's give Rimmer some nights off. The past little bit he has looked, and this is being kind, very average. If this team want to make some noise in the post season, he has to be playing at the level he was early in the season.

We also need young Tai to get some ice time, what happens if Rimmer gets hurt?

These guys have shown that they can play at the highest level, they now need to show they can do it consistently.
Go Canes Go!!

ChuckAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-853267891466093489.post-31015211125317844462012-12-19T16:08:10.410-07:002012-12-19T16:08:10.410-07:00Until this team can consistently beat the teams th...Until this team can consistently beat the teams that are below .500 they will not make the playoffs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-853267891466093489.post-28394960918468533592012-12-19T14:58:25.461-07:002012-12-19T14:58:25.461-07:00This team continues to play up or down to the leve...This team continues to play up or down to the level of the opponent. Until the forwards can play every game with constant pressure on the puck they will have these types of games. It was either late in the 1 or early 2 when Sam McK got cut with a skate above his knee ( 15 stitches ). We really struggled after that as they mixed and matched lines especially while Maxwell was in the penalty box. Sam did say it was not serious and will be back after the break. I thought Sofilas did a good job filling in on "d". Hopefully all went well with Adam's stress test today and he will be back in the line up on the 28. Enjoy the break and the time away and come back rested and ready to go for the rest of the season and into the playoffs. Happy holidays and safe travels. Johnston was the only vet who had any energy.
Overall a good first half and boys need to get a good rest and get off to a good start after the break. Merry Christmas to the boys and all the Canes staff and fans! Here's hoping that a week or so off will give all a good rest and heal a few bumps and bruises that have taken it's toll.... There is a long ways to go, much of it on the road, so let's bring home the playoffs for the first time in years. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
