Hurricanes Open Camp August 28th

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are excited to announce the dates for their 2012 Training Camp.

The Canes will open Camp on Tuesday, August 28th with three practices scheduled starting at 5:00pm. Practices and scrimmages continue right through the weekend and camp wraps up on Sunday, September 2nd with the Alumni Championship Game scheduled for Noon. All practices and scrimmages take place at the ENMAX Centre and they are open to the public free of charge.

Once training camp wraps up, the Canes will play a six game preseason schedule:

Wed., September 5th, 7:00pm – vs. Hurricanes (Taber)

Sat., September 8th, 7:00pm – Hurricanes at Red Deer Rebels (Innisfail)

Sun., September 9th, 6:00pm – Hurricanes at Medicine Hat Tigers (Medicine Hat)

Wed., September 12th, 7:00pm –Tigers vs. Hurricanes (ENMAX Centre)

Fri., September 14th, 7:00pm – Ice vs. Hurricanes (Crowsnest Pass)

Sat., September 15th, 7:00pm - Hurricanes vs. Calgary Hitmen (Crowsnest Pass)

The Lethbridge Hurricanes DQ Home Opener against their rivals from Medicine Hat to kick off the 2012-2013 regular season will be Friday, September 21st at 7:00pm.

Season Tickets can still be purchased by calling the Lethbridge Hurricanes Office at (403) 328 -1986.

  1. Its going to be an interesting camp and start of the year to see what rookies make the team, what 20 year olds stay and if there are any deals to be done....should be fun! Scott

  2. Overage Predictions.....Ty Rimmer, Graham Hood, and Daniel Johnston stick. Kiziuk moves on to University or College hockey, Oslanski traded along with Nick Bounasissi. But trading overages could be a problem if.....there is an NHL lockout.

  3. I agree with Johnston and Rimmer but I don't see how the team can afford to give up Buonasissi's 50 to 60 pts a year....the scoring depth is weak...tough call.

  4. The only way you keep Hood is if he decides he is the biggest guy on the team. We have alot of small forwards that are going to need someone to stand up for them. If Hood is not willing to do that then get rid of him. AJ
