Hurricanes go 3 and 0, aquire a new forward, and getting ready for the rematch with Tigers tonight.

Juha Metsola right

Well, it went down to the wire again last night, but the Canes' managed to pull out another nail biter! 60 minutes of hockey solved nothing between rivals Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, but Dwight King would be the hero on his return to the line-up scoring the game winner 18 seconds into OT to give Lethbridge a 1-0 win. It's second straight game the Canes' managed a 1-0 victory. Goaltender Juha Metsola recorded his second consecutive shutout and hasn't allowed a goal 129 minutes and 20 seconds of hockey.

Lethbridge lost another player to injury last night. Cam Braes went down with a concussion. His status is unknown and he will not play tonight in Medicine Hat. That leaves Braes, Bancks, and Iwanski out with injury. Lethbridge though has added a new forward via a trade with Edmonton. The Canes' have acquired forward, Brent Henke, from the Oil Kings in exchange for a 7th round pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft. Henke is an Edmonton native originally drafted by Kootenay in 2005. Henke made his major junior debut last season playing 63 games and scoring 2 goals, 6 assists for 8 points to go with 24 penalty minutes. He'll suit up for the Hurricanes tonight in the Hat and will wear number 28. The pre-game show tonight on CJOC-FM at 7. The puck drops at 7:30.

After tonight's game, Lethbridge won't play again till next Thursday, October 1st in Calgary.

  1. We in Portland will enjoy your blog this year Pat. We had a broadcaster here that did a blog about on and off ice happenings and it was very informative. Thanks much.
